Incident/Extent of Damage:
Due to an incendiary fire in the Playland, extensive smoke and soot damage occurred throughout the entire restaurant and kitchen areas. Due to the extent of damage and the health and sanitation issues involved, both the franchise owner and the insurance company were very concerned with business interruption.
Universal Restoration Services Solution:
Universal Restoration Services arrived on the scene and quickly determined that the Playland (source of fire) was causing increased odor into the restaurant. Universal Restoration Services partitioned off the Playland area, while cause and origin investigations took place, and installed a vapor barrier so that restoration to the restaurant could begin immediately. Universal Restoration Services worked around the clock to demo the ceiling, clean and deodorize the entire structure and contents, seal the area above the grid, clean the ductwork and remove any sign of smoke odor or soot damage.
Completion Date:
Universal Restoration Services completed the entire restoration effort in only four days.

Both McDonald's and the insurance company were pleased that business interruption was minimal.
